BIOGRAPHY
Edie Pfeifer has loved working with clay since childhood. She has lived near the beach in Southern California all her life. Her early art education was at Santa Monica College, where her focus was on ceramics. During her child rearing years she continued to take classes and work from her home studio. After moving to Hermosa Beach she studied sculpture for four years, fulfilling a longtime ambition. Edie feels she has found her true passion in sculpture, and hopes to continue to grow and evolve as an artist as long as she lives. She has been sculpting since 1978, and showing her work professionally since 1982.
ARTIST'S STATEMENT
Movement and flow are the words that best describe the sculptures I create. A line often moves, with no seeming beginning or end, connecting one part to another. Sometimes the movement is strong and straight, sometimes gentle and flowing. Living near the ocean all my life, I have always drawn inspiration from my surroundings. This, combined with a great respect for the human form and its beauty, have been strong influences in my ever developing style. When I work, I feel a connection with the clay -- it leads me where I want to go, even though in the beginning I may not know the destination. If I listen well, the piece finds its direction

Running through Feb. 5th, I have one of my sculptures, "Tango" in the Palos Verdes Art Center's juried Holiday Show. The temporary location of the center is 550 Deep Valley Dr.#261, Rolling Hills Estates90274.
The site
I update this site regularly with currently available work. When a piece has been sold, the picture is removed. My sculptures are all one of a kind originals. Page 9 is at the top of the menue as this is the most recent work. Some of the pieces here are presently being shown in galleries in the South Bay area. Contact me if you are interested in a particular work of art and we can arrange for a viewing at your convenience. I am also available for commissioned sculpture. Ongoing Representation
HARMONY WORKS, an eclectic gift gallery in Redondo Beach has carried my work for many years. Their address is; 1705 South Catalina Ave. The MA GRIFFE GALARIE is located at 3624 South Gaffey in San Pedro, CA 90731. I have had two solo shows there, and she also carries my work in the boutique on a regular basis. I am now represented by LAZY DOG STUDIOS in San Pedro. They are located at 361 Seventh Street, San Pedro.
They have a new show up every month opening on the First Thursday of the month, which is the San Pedro Art Walk night, beginning at 6 PM.
